Movies were just different then, so naturally this one is. And dubs are so often crappy that the quality of this one isn't really relatively that bad. The actors' faces are pretty expressive, more in some moments than others, and if you don't allow your mind to think "their speech is so stilted, why are they acting like that??" and just allow yourself to appreciate that they ARE dubbed, it's hard to find much fault with them. I honestly think this is a GOOD movie. It has a lot of little assets, many that aren't seen too often. The characters have various relationships, and everyone is allowed explanation of their character to allow pity, sympathy, or whatever personal reaction you might have. No-one is really vicious, either, and that's refreshing. A movie where nobody is mean to anyone else, but which still involves emotional and physical conflict? More of these nowadays, please. [SPOILERSSS] There are three separate tragic love stories in this movie, for one thing. They all get screen time, and both sides of each story are given exposure (apart from the girl who is dead before the movie starts). The storytelling is fairly slow, but that allows each plot thread to build rather than just feature, and lets you figure out or think you've figured out who's doing/thinking what before you're simply told. Leonore's death scene is SAD! And not just sad, either. The werewolf's plea to her to not think he's a murderer, when she's just admitted SHE has killed in cold blood for love of him? It's just a line that passes by, but ouch. [END SPOILERS] There's more, but you can see that for yourself. Watch it! WEREWOLF IN A GIRLS DORMITORY true to its uninspired title, is an uninspired movie. Point of fact it starts out as a very bad move, poor acting and dialog throughout. Though the mystery of the Werewolf's identity kept me watching, and the one good actor tends to be the actor who plays the werewolf. So nothing memorable or worth keeping, but worth a look if you're interested in werewolf films.
